Photographing surf in Carcavelos
Carcavelos is one of the most intense lines on the Cascais coast. On clean days it offers fast walls, barrels and strong sections; on smaller days it becomes an accessible option for technical sessions and water portraits.
Conditions
Works best with west to southwest swell and light north wind. Tide and sandbanks change the framing a lot.
Photo angle
The seafront road makes it easy to vary quickly between front, side and tighter angles. Ideal for complete sequences.
